Objectives: This study analyzed the effects of Generalized trust and Trust in government Trust on organ donation after brain death.
Method: The study used the data from 2016 Korean General Social Survey (KGSS) which was made up of 1,052 people collected nationwide. 1,000 people in final analysis were selected by the response to the organ donation thought. For all analysis, SPSS 19 was used. Frequency analysis and chi-square analysis were conducted to characterize the variables involved in the analysis. To examine the effect of Generalized trust and Trust in government on organ donation. This study conducted logistic regression analysis, controlling socio-demographic variables and subjective health recognition.
Results: It was confirmed that generalized trust did not influence the organ donation intention after brain death. On the other hand, trust in government was confirmed to have a positive relationship with the organ donation after brain death. This results seem to reflect social reality of low generalized trust.
Conclusions: In order to spread organ donation, we should tried to build a system that can increase trust in government and suggested that we should increase generalized trust based on trust in government.
